Hey Y'all!!

How's it goin?! Thanks so much for the updates of everything that's going on in your lives :) I love hearing from ya!

We had a good week here in good ol' TEXAS! We had a fun branch "Pioneer Day Celebration!" It was lots of fun! The biggest hassle was trying to find the Borth's home!! They live in the middle of nowhere! We turned down a few too many farm roads, but eventually found it! haha.

This week we focused a lot on our recent converts and investigators! They are doing really well! S, one of our recent converts that got baptized at the beginning of May, received the Aaronic Priesthood yesterday! So neat!! We were able to spend some time with a recent-less-active family doing some service! I loved being able to spend some 1-on-1 time with their family! We have SO many people to work with here, but we are really trying to minister to the "one" just like the Savior does.

This week we have Zone Conference and will be learning a lot about teaching skills, so that will be great! President Heap has assigned my release date for November 18th! Thanks for all of your love and support that y'all send my way! Happy Birthday to my sweetheart on Sunday :)

Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Evans

Howdy!
Thanks so much for all the emails and pictures!! It sounds like everything is going great back in the land of the potatoes!! This week was good for me too :)  I picked up my new companion, Sister LaBare on Tuesday. She is from Eagle Mountain, UT, has been out for 16 months :)

I went to the chiropractor this week and President Lovett had his nurses do an ultra sound on my hip.. so I guess we'll see if they find any further deets of why I feel like I am 90 when I walk!!

We went to Tucumcari twice this week and both trips were a success!! I spoke in Sacrament meeting :) I feel like I have spoken soooo much on my mission! What a blessing! We went and saw the P family and they are doing so good! M is preparing to be baptized and will hopefully be receiving the priesthood soon so that he can baptize her and pass the sacrament! They are the cutest little fam!

We were blessed to find a few new investigators this week here in Dalhart! I feel like we spend so much time in the other towns, that Dalhart itself has been a little bit neglected, so new investigators are a blessing!

Mom, I loved that Sabbath Day Observance article that you sent me this week! I loved that it referred to 3 Nephi 17 in the Book of Mormon about how the Savior instructed the people to prepare for that sacred day and the teachings which they would receive. Lately I have been praying about ways to strengthen our family and the Holy Ghost gave me a BRILLIANT IDEA! Are you ready Evans fam? Ok, I am implementing a new family tradition for our annual "Christmas at the Cabin" ... We are going to have a Family Home Evening and are going to have a spiritual thought (Harrison and I will provide it if we need to) and then we are having an EVANS FAMILY TESTIMONY MEETING!! Who's in?!  It will be great :)

Well, that's all the crazy ideas I have for now! haha I love y'all!
Have a great week :)

Hello from TX!
Hey, y'all! Thanks so much for all of your emails :) It is so good to hear from the people that I love so much!

I've had a great week! It's been really busy- like usual :) Earlier in the week, I received a priesthood blessing. I LOVE hearing from Heavenly Father and am so grateful that the priesthood has been restored to the Earth! Our investigator, M is doing so well! Her husband, J is working towards receiving the Aaronic Priesthood so that he can baptize her! They are a really fun couple to teach :) On Thursday, we went to the temple with Sister Borth! It was so great- I love the temple so so so much! I learned a lot! Last night, we taught a Spanish less active member and he told me basically that I really sound like a white girl when I try to speak! hahaha- Gosh! I am trying! Yo soy un gringo. :)

Transfer Calls came! I will be staying here in Dalhart/ Tucumcari and Sister LaBare (Luhh-Bear) is joining me here! It will be great! All I know about her is that she only has a few months left- stay tuned for more deets :)

I learned something really neat this week. In Sunday School, we were learning about the Atonement and then the Holy Ghost taught me that Temple Work and the Atonement go hand-in-hand. If you believe in the Savior's Atonement, then you believe in vicarious work. Jesus Christ did something for us that we never would have been able to do for ourselves. His ultimate sacrifice makes all things possible to overcome and provides the way for us to return to live with Him again. We are blessed with the opportunity to go to the temple and do so much work(saving ordinances) for those that can't do it on their own! They need us and we need them! The church is absolutely true. I love y'all :) Have a great week!

July 6, 2015

Hello!
Happy July erry'body! I can't believe it's already July- weird! Well, this week we found and started teaching a new Spanish couple! They are really neat and are sincerely seeking for truth! The only problem is my spanish haha- can you say #strugglebus? Half the time, I have no clue what's going on or being said!! Oh well :) I'm trying! We also taught the cutest old man in the world!! His name is C and he is probably in his 90's- he mows our yard. It's dang hot here and he's always dripping sweat, so we always get him a glass of cold water and he tries to pay us a $20 bill for it hahaha - too funny!

I had the best time on exchanges this week! Sister Affleck came with me to Tucumcari- it was a fun day filled with lots of hard work!! We stayed the night with a member- Sister Currell. She is so sweet and made us the best food! I love the members here :)

For the 4th of July, we were invited to the Baumert's home. They are so great! Then, we treated ourselves to a mani + pedi and watched the fireworks through our window! Good Times :)

We talked to someone this week that said, "I just don't understand why religions have to be so complicated! It should be simple!" I love the simplicity of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! I testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly Jesus Christ's church. It is simple. Everything about it is simple. I love it and I love teaching others about it!! Have a great week y'all :)
