Welcome to Dalhart, TX Y'All!!!
Hey y'all! Thanks for the emails and pictures!!
YAY! Congrats Jade and Melody! Evans 2015 <3

Well, I made it to windy, rainy, stormy Dalhart! I'm not sure what's going on, but the Panhandle of Texas is going crazy today with the weather!  I am serving with Sister Ludwinski and she is from an outlying town outside of Logan, Ut! She has been out 1 month longer than I have, so she'll be hitting her year mark next week! Holy Moly! I really like being her companion! We work and teach well together! Ready for the twist? We are English-speaking missionaries serving in a Spanish area!! So what does that mean? We are teaching ourselves how to teach in Espanol! This is when I really need your help, Madelin and Ila! :) haha!

We have an awesome teaching pool that we are working with right now! S (26 yrs. old) should be getting baptized this Friday, L is a child of a part-member family and is dying to be baptized!, We're teaching a few families (both English and Spanish-speaking), and D (who is in his early 30's). D came to church yesterday and has committed to try to live the Word of Wisdom! He even prayed for the 1st time this week! The work is definitely coming along and I love teaching such humble and teachable people! Ok funny story- we were teaching a super golden investigator named S (in Spanish) and set a baptismal date with him and everything.. then we went back this week with a Spanish-speaking member to translate and clarify everything for us and we found out that he is a less-active member of the church!! No wonder everything just clicked for him!! It's been a great week!

I hope everything is going well for y'all! I love y'all!
Love, Sister Evans ... or should I say Hermana Evans?

On to the Next Adventure!
Hey y'all!! It's been a really great week! Well... after 7 months of serving in the promise land of Canyon, TX... I am getting transferred to Dalhart, TX! I am sad to go because I love the people here SO much, but I am ready and excited to go to a new place! I will be serving with Sister Ludwinski! :) Oh and word on the street is that we are supposed to learn and teach in Spanish.. That should be interesting! No habla espanol!!

This last week on the college campus, we ran into some crazy things! There was a mini chalk color festival with Hindu Dubstep for music, hard-core preachers yelling at people to follow the bible and repent or they are going to you know where, and students building forts to sleep in out of wood pallets as a fundraiser to raise money to send goats to Africa! It was an eventful week to say at the least! We had the opportunity to teach so many people who were so receptive to the message of the restoration and the Book of Mormon! My testimony has been strengthened so much as I have been able to teach my brothers and sisters about a book that is so precious to me! I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that we can and will come closer to our Savior by reading more about his character and perfect love towards each and every one of us.

We were able to go to the temple this last Friday!  Justin brought names and performed baptisms for 19 of his ancestors! It was so neat! :) I love this work! It is such a blessing to be a part of it and to be an instrument in the Lord's hands! I hope y'all are doing well and know how much I love you, but more importantly how much Heavenly Father loves, cares, and is aware of you!! Have a great week :)

Hey Y'all!
Hello! I hope all went well this last week :) Mom, I'll be praying for you as you have your back surgery this week! This week was a really good week!
All of the college student's schedules are a mess right now with finals right around the corner, so we've had a little bit of a difficult time getting to meet with all of our investigators. But that's ok! This week will be even better! :)
We met with a couple new investigators- they are friends from their baptist church and love to challenge everything we say! But they really do have a lot of potential and are searching for answers that can only be found through Christ's restored gospel! We've continued to work a lot with our returning- less active. She's doing well (besides crushing 4 ribs and tearing her ACL at work- Cattle Ranch) and will be joining us this week on the branch temple trip! J (recent convert) LOVES history and has been working on his family history in his free time- he has made it all the way back to the 1600's and will be taking around 10-12 names to the temple this week!! Talk about the Spirit of Elijah!
We were able to meet another returning less active this week who just moved to Amarillo and she invited us over and even fed us dinner! That never happens round here, so we were way excited! On a funny note, we met an old guy who was in his underwear with the "dangdest head cold he'd ever done had!" when we knocked on his door trying to contact a referral! haha!
Sister Udall and I have been finding ourselves speaking in scriptural terms since all we read is the "good books!" I catch myself always saying "exort, herewith, in which, and go forth!" haha! Anywho- please pray that our investigators will be able to come to church this week! Especially L- she has finally been given the weekend off from work! Answer to our prayers!! I love you all so much and hope you have a great week :) Oh! Also, Transfer Calls will be here this weekend! Love y'all!

THE END IS NIGH
Hey y'all!!  First of all, THANK YOU to the Smith Family and to my sweet family for the Easter packages! I loved them!!

Last Monday, Sister Udall and I had to go to the car dealership in Amarillo to have a safety inspection done on our car. We had to sit in the waiting area for quite a while with the other customers and we felt so out of place- living in the world, but not of the world! There was pop/country music in the background, coffee and tea up for grabs, and the news was blaring about all of the commotion that is happening with Iran! We were sitting there trying to block it all out by opening up the scriptures and passing out #BecauseHeLives cards to the other customers :) It dawned on us, these are definitely the last days before Christ comes again! As we listened to General Conference this week, so many apostles got up to the pulpit and testified that many of the prophesied signs of the Savior's coming were coming to pass! I am so excited and definitely looking forward to that day!

This week we had Zone Conference and President Heap taught us about living the higher law and living up to the Lord's standards. We also had exchanges this week and we all had so much fun and saw a lot of miracles and success! Sister Affleck came with me to Amarillo :) We were able to teach a Part-Member family. The mom's records were still in the YSA, and she reached out to us to come and teach her husband. It was so neat to teach this family and their 3 small children! Future eternal family.. they are so prepared for it!

I LOVED GENERAL CONFERENCE! I hope all of you loved it too!! What were your favorite talks? There's definitely no better way to spend Easter, than listening to the prophet and apostles testify of Christ! I love this time of year! HE LIVES! I love y'all so much! Have a great week :)
Love,
Sister Evans
